My Boston goal

A lot of friends are wishing me good luck, and I'm grateful they are happy for me.

Luck, as it were, is what brings me to race day. Luck that rain over the past few days is now looking like it'll clear, with near perfect conditions. Luck brought me to Boston to gather with my running friends and R. A few of us gathered yesterday and a bunch of them are meeting me at the hotel tomorrow morning so we can take that school bus to Hopkinton.

With good luck, I set one goal and it's not really based on time. Sure I asked the Nike folks to print out a 3:40 and 3:50 pace bands. So there will be no attempt to requalify for Boston tomorrow or beat my 3:12:36 personal best.

Luck had me find this sport of running years ago and it was a combination of luck and hard work that got me to Beantown. More hard work than luck, suppose though I know I'm lucky to have running feel so natural to me. Born lucky in that respect.

So for those tracking me, don't look for time, instead look for my tweets and pictures as I run the race of my life for fun, for the experience. There will be a time to race this course, but first, I'm gonna soak it all in. Wish me luck in seeking that.

Some pics from today, a packed day including the 5K race during which I tweeted and took pictures as practice, a trip to North End and Harvard. Had pasta for lunch and noodles for dinner at Wagamama.

Why am I not surprised that you decided to run the 5K as well? Glad you enjoyed Beantown so much! I can't wait to go back, and hopefully toe that line one of these days.

Was just looking through some of your flickr pics...fun stuff. Especially since I noticed a LOT of people cheering for Canada on the course and thought of you.

But I choose this post to comment on since I feel the need to mention that Wagamama has become one of my MUST EAT places in Boston ;p
